Photograph of the 1957 Eureka College graduation ceremony during Ronald Reagan's visit to Eureka College at which he attended the commencement for the graduates. Ronald Reagan attended Eureka College between 1928 and 1932. He was a member of the TKE's Iota Chapter during his time in Eureka and served as its President in 1928. Reagan was active in school including theater and football. At the time of the photograph, Ronald Reagan was working as an actor in Hollywood. As Eureka College's most famous celebrity, Reagan's arrival to campus was always celebrated by staff, faculty, students, Eureka College Alums, and the citizens of Eureka.
This black and white photograph shows Nancy and Ronald Reagan greetings guests of the celebratory party thrown for the 1957 Eureka College Graduation. Ronald and Nancy stand in a door frame as they talk to passing guests. Reagan and Nancy appear in white, with Nancy's dress having black dots and a pearl collar, and Reagan wearing a black tie. The guests include one woman engaged in conversation with Nancy. She wears a marbled dress and a pearl necklace, and two men who wear suits and ties. One man looks on as Nancy and the woman talk amongst one another, while the other man looks beyond the right side of the photograph over this left shoulder.
The identity of those photographed, except for Nancy and Ronald Reagan, are unknown. r
