Object Description

This black and white photograph was taken as part of the 1955 Eureka College Homecoming festivities. This Homecoming was exceptionally notable due to the visit of Ronald Reagan, who was working as a actor in Hollywood at the time. Reagan is one of Eureka College's most famous alumni as he attended the school between 1928-1932 before going to find success in California.

Ronald Reagan is pictured here standing with two young men on each side of him. The trio are dressed in suits and ties. Reagan is looking at the camera and smiling while the two young men look at one another. In the background is a man sitting down behind Reagan. He looks up with a disconcerted look on his face. It is possible that he is in a conversation with someone, but they are hidden behind the three men in the foreground. Next to the group sits a young girl. Likely not more than 6 years old, she looks at the camera, wearing a white shirt and dark skirt. They are all likely in one of the Eureka College buildings as it is featured in several other photographs from Reagan's trip to Eureka. The identities of those photographed, not including Reagan, is unknown.
